URBAN ART: Spray Paint Manifesto - $185
Ages 13-18 | July 11-15, 2011, 1:30-4:30pm | Instructor: Mason Fetzer

This five-day urban art class will explore various forms of guerilla art and how they impact today’s culture. From Shepard Fairey to Banksy, wheat-pasting to stencil-cutting, we will explore all kinds of art born in the streets. Local artists will work with students throughout the week to explore traditions and techniques used both locally and internationally. Students will create various kinds of urban art and will exhibit their creations at their very own gallery event as part of Higher Ground’s Art Attacks Program. No prerequisite required.

URBAN ART: The Art of the Letter - $205
Ages 13-18 | June 20-24, 2011, 1:30-4:30pm | Instructor: Mason Fetzer

Spend five days exploring the fundamentals of graffiti writing! We will work specifically on lettering forms and urban can-wielding techniques in preparation for the 2011 Utah Arts Festival (June 23-26). Students will go on-site to share their work and the art of graffiti with the public in an interactive environment. At the festival, students will be working alongside professional community artists, producing custom art for sale and participating in an ever-changing graffiti wall. No prerequisite required.
