My life has never really revolved around any one thing like I wish it would. I try to pretend that it revolves around soccer, but the truth of the matter is that, when I really think about it, soccer is simply a pastime. If I had to pick one aspect of my life that has been closest to central, it would most likely be advancement. I have always tried to strive to make myself better in any way possible.

I can be pretty certain that my desire for betterment is what led me down the subconscious path that ended with my travel to Spain. As a junior in High School I spent four months living in Spain with a host family. I was completely immersed in the culture and language that shaped so much of the western hemisphere?s history. It changed me in so many ways that I continue to discover new things about my experience abroad every time I think about it.

Aside from Spanish, my strengths in school have always included math, history and government. High School was not hard as a whole, but many of the things that help students succeed, such as organization and note-taking, were beyond me. Having learned these talents the hard way in college I feel compelled to help other students to realize the importance of all aspects of the academic process.
